Mr. Sandeep Kerkar is a visionary media leader and a pioneer of electronic journalism in Goa, with over two decades of experience in the industry. Widely recognized as the youngest television channel owner in the state, he has been the driving force behind multiple successful media ventures that have shaped Goa’s broadcast landscape.
His professional journey began with leadership roles across reputed media groups. He worked with Formento and the Goan Observer as Manager of the Multimedia Division, and later with the Herald Group as Manager of HCN Production. He also served as Associate Editor of Crystal Quest, a national educational magazine, where he played a pivotal role in identifying and nurturing grassroots talent.
Expanding his horizons beyond regional media, Mr. Kerkar gained valuable experience in the Bollywood film industry, working as Assistant Director on the feature film Chal Picture Banate Hain, under the mentorship of renowned Indian cinematographer Hari Nair.
However, his true calling lay in creating a platform for Goans. In 2015, he launched Prime TV—Goa’s very own infotainment channel—designed to give the people of Goa a voice while nurturing young local talent and amplifying their stories on a wider stage.
One of his most ambitious and landmark achievements has been the establishment of Rashtra TV—Goa’s first Hindi national satellite channel. A dream project that he pursued with relentless determination, Rashtra TV today stands as the only satellite channel from Goa, exemplifying his vision and commitment to bringing the state’s stories to the national forefront.
Under his leadership, Infomedia Primeslot Network has grown to include:
- PBN Bharat – Goa’s first dedicated Business TV channel
- Prime Ayurved – Goa’s only Ayurveda-focused digital channel
- Purple TV Bharat – India’s first television channel dedicated to Persons with Disability
Mr. Kerkar’s influence extends far beyond television. He has played an instrumental role in positioning Goa on national and international platforms. He has served as Media Advisor for the World Ayurved Congress and Purple Fest—India’s first Persons with Disability Festival. He has also spearheaded major projects including IFFI TV (International Film Festival of India Special Broadcast) and the 1st International Environment & Sustainable Summit in Goa.
From 2024 to 2026, he served as President of JCI Panaji, where he led the chapter’s initiatives, community projects, and representation at regional and national platforms. Currently, he serves as Zone Director PR of JCI Zone 11, guiding communication strategies, public relations, and engagement across the zone.
